Air Algérie's new subsidiary, Domestic Airlines, is now operational, with its first flights taking off discreetly on August 20 from Algiers. The airline's mission is to strengthen domestic air transport, particularly in the southern part of the country. Officially launched on July 3, it plans to gradually ramp up operations with the arrival of new aircraft in September, thanks in particular to the transfer of 15 aircraft from the former Tassili Airlines and an order for 16 ATRs placed by Air Algérie. The government, through the Ministry of Transport, supports this strategic project aimed at improving accessibility to remote regions. Deliveries of the new aircraft will be staggered until 2026, marking a significant transformation of the national air transport system.
