The Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mines will soon launch the digital platform "Markabati" (markabati.dz), designed to make appointments for compliance checks on imported vehicles. This service will reduce processing time to 20 minutes per vehicle and streamline the operation of inspection centres. Initially, it will be deployed at the Caroubier centre in Algiers, before being rolled out nationwide. Each user will receive an email confirmation with instructions and a QR access code. A second phase of the project involves digitizing the compliance report. The Caroubier centre, reinforced by five additional experts, can now process up to 110 vehicles per day. Since January 2025, more than 17,000 vehicles have been inspected there. The inspection covers all types of vehicles. The ministry also plans to create a national database of vehicle importers and open new inspection centres in Algiers to relieve congestion at Caroubier.
