The meeting follows on from agreements reached at the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), aimed at strengthening Algerian-Egyptian cooperation in the mining sector. It brought together the CEOs of Sonarem, ENG, and ENAMARBRE to discuss the implementation of a memorandum providing for the export of 600,000 m³ of marble and large quantities of calcium carbonate.

Mr Soltani, CEO of Sonarem, emphasized the strategic importance of the marble industry in the group's development, highlighting the quality and competitiveness of Algerian marble. He reaffirmed his desire to modernize production units and expand the range to include sought-after products such as crystalline red, black, and white marble.

His Egyptian counterpart, Mr El-Azzaly, expressed strong interest in Algerian marble, which is already in demand in several international markets. He mentioned the creation of an exclusive marketing agency to facilitate exports and increase the product's visibility.

Both parties agreed to organize field visits to national quarries, marking a strategic step in strengthening the partnership and African economic integration.
