The 15th Algeria Business Meetings open today in Paris: A new stage in Algerian-French Business Council

The 15th event of Rencontres-Algérie, which opens today and runs for three days in Paris, Lyon and Marseille (France) under the theme "Algeria: New Partnerships", should be a new milestone in the implementation of bilateral economic cooperation commitments, as set out at the beginning of February in the roadmap of the Algerian-French Business Council.

Launched jointly by the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (Crea) and the French Business Confederation (Medef), this cooperation council "forms part of the renewed partnership between France and Algeria, and aims to position itself as a cog in the wheel of bilateral economic relations, both at the level of economic operators and the authorities", explained the French employers' organisation when this new cooperation structure was set up at the beginning of last month in Paris.

Crea and Medef had also drawn up a roadmap for the current year, focusing in particular on the establishment of six sectoral working groups bringing together representatives of companies from both countries to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry, energy and mining, agriculture, agri-food, infrastructure and logistics, as well as in the financial and banking sectors. In the same vein, Medef announced that the next meeting to advance the work of the bilateral business council will be the participation of companies from both countries in the 15th event of the Algeria meetings, which will take effect from today in Paris, Lyon and Marseille.

On the agenda, notes the same source, are a number of topical themes of interest to economic operators in both countries, including "Algeria's economic trajectory in the face of global crises", "the leadership of the healthcare industry in development in Algeria", "decarbonisation and the energy transition in industry", "the rise of new technologies and digitisation", and "the levers of attractiveness and co-production between now and 2030".
