Arkab receives the United States Ambassador

On Wednesday in Algiers, Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, will receive Elizabeth Moore Aubin, the United States Ambassador to Algeria.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, and the US Ambassador to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin, discussed strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the hydrocarbon, mining, and oil and gas equipment manufacturing sectors. Both parties expressed their desire to develop a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership to respond to changes in global energy markets.

Arkab highlighted the established exchanges between Sonatrach and American companies such as ExxonMobil and Chevron, while calling for cooperation to be extended to the processing industry and emission reduction technologies. The meeting also focused on innovation, research, development, training, and the transfer of know-how, with a view to strengthening local added value.

For her part, the US ambassador praised the business climate in Algeria and the confidence of American companies in this market, expressing their interest in increasing their investments and presence through long-term partnerships in the energy sector.
