On Tuesday, the Algerian Post and Electronic Communications Regulatory Authority (ARPCE) issued a formal warning against the use of non-approved terminal equipment on the Algerian market.

In its press release, ARPCE emphasizes that these devices, which are often imported or sold outside official channels, have not undergone the required technical and regulatory testing. Their use could therefore expose users to various risks, including connection interruptions, incompatibility with national operators' networks, or even an inability to access emergency numbers ( police, civil protection, or medical services).

The authority also warns that some of this equipment exceeds the authorized radiation thresholds, thus posing a potential health risk to users.

Check the certification label before making any purchase.

To ensure the security and compliance of the terminals used, the ARPCE recommends that the public verify an official sticker stating "Approved by the ARPCE" or "Certified by the ARPCE," accompanied by the certification number assigned by the authority.

"This label is the only guarantee that the device has been tested and found to comply with current standards," the statement said.

Finally, ARPCE reaffirms its commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring a safe and reliable digital environment for all users in the country.
