Minister Mokhtar Didouche visits Constantine: boosting tourism and promoting handicrafts

Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mokhtar Didouche, paid an official visit to the wilaya of Constantine on Sunday. His tour took him to inspect various structures and facilities belonging to his sector.

Right at the start of his visit, the Minister took an interest in the progress of renovation work on the Hôtel Cirta, located in the heart of the city. This work is nearing completion and should be finalized “in the very near future”. Didouche expressly recommended professional management of this renowned establishment, with the aim of re-establishing it as a “tourist and historical hub, the pride of the city of suspension bridges”.


Later, during his visit to Constantine's Bab el Kantara district, the Minister reviewed progress made in the construction of a crafts center. He emphasized “the crucial importance of this structure in promoting and preserving local products and craft trades”. The town is renowned for its traditional costumes, copper work and trimmings.


Inspecting construction work on the Hotel du Rocher and a leisure and amusement park at Djebel Ouahch, Didouche urged those in charge to “step up efforts to meet delivery deadlines”. The aim is to enable tourists and residents alike “to take advantage of these infrastructures as of the next summer season”.
