Speaking to the press, Mr Baddari said that the inauguration was part of the implementation of the Sectoral Action Plan (2024-2029) which stems from the vision of the President of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to make the University one of the levers of the innovative economy while strengthening its economic role. He added that this plant, which "will produce its first chip next March and is capable of designing electronic chips using various technologies, including 65-nanometer technology, is the first of its kind in Algeria and will master the design and manufacture of electronic chips in the future". The Minister also visited the incubator that will support the creation of 25 start-ups active in advanced technologies, including companies specializing in fire detectors and mud zone detectors for dams. Mr. Baddari also heard presentations on projects proposed by five subsidiaries specializing in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), such as the sensor systems manufacturing subsidiary. The Minister also took a look at some of the technological prototypes produced by this centre, which boasts over 40 years of experience in various technological fields, including "robotics", "systems engineering and multimedia", and "microelectronics and optics".
