It is based on the need to develop a modern, efficient, and integrated transport system, capable of connecting all regions of the country and supporting economic and social development, based on the principle of geographical equity in access to public services.

The fundamental objective of this project is "to strengthen the connectivity of the domestic air network, while improving the quality of services in punctuality, safety, efficiency and accessibility. This will enable better organization and sustainable service", asserted Hamza Benhamouda, CEO of Air Algérie. According to him, "the new domestic airline will be a strategic lever for strengthening national cohesion and opening up all the country's regions, especially the South and inland areas. It will also contribute to the promotion of domestic tourism and economic recovery, in a spirit of equity and justice for all citizens, wherever they may be".

He assured that the integration of Tassili Airlines into this new entity would be carried out in "a framework of transparency, fairness and respect for all existing human skills and resources. We want this merger to be fair, harmonious, and socially responsible". He reassured Tassili Airlines customers that all tickets and bookings already made would be maintained, with no change to schedules or service levels. On the contrary, we are working within the framework of this unification to improve the travel experience. And we are about to embark on a new level of modernization, a higher phase of transformation for which we will mobilize all available energies and skills".

This promising project is fully aligned with the far-reaching reforms currently underway in Algeria.

“We have signed the official agreement with the aircraft manufacturer ATR, whose representative is here with us today”, he added.

Minister of Transport Saïd Sayoud confirmed in a speech the signing of a contract for 16 aircraft to be acquired by Air Algérie, as part of the restructuring plan for the national carrier, which currently has a 55-plane fleet, including one dedicated to freight, 80% of these aircraft have been in service for 15 to 20 years.

This measure, he pointed out, "is part of an overall drive to improve the public services provided to the public, and to guarantee the continuity, safety and efficiency of air transport, particularly in the face of growing demand. Demand is strong on domestic routes. Air Algérie has also resorted to leasing several aircraft recently to compensate for the deficits recorded on certain domestic and international routes".
