Two agreements signed with Tunisia and Greece: Algeria launches its professional maritime cluster

Yesterday in Algiers, two cooperation agreements were signed between Algeria and Tunisia and between Algeria and Greece, to support the creation of an Algerian maritime cluster to develop national expertise in the blue economy.

The agreements were signed by Abdelfettah Harizi, Managing Director of the “Leancubator” incubator, Ezzedine Kacem, President of the Tunisian Maritime Professional Cluster, and Gregory Yuvanof, Director of the Greek Maritime Center of Excellence, supervised by Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid, Minister of the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, and Farid Hardaoui, Inspector General of the Ministry of Fisheries and Fisheries Productions, on the sidelines of the Algerian Blue Economy Conference.

 

According to Harizi, these two agreements provide opportunities for Algerian actors in the field of the blue economy through international cooperation, the exchange of expertise between the three countries mutual support for innovation, and joint projects to come in the coming months.

 

For his part, Kacem affirmed that these agreements aim to create clusters of maritime professionals in all North African countries and to set up an organization bringing together all the clusters in the region, following United Nations recommendations. The same speaker specified to the APS that the Tunisian maritime professional cluster as the first cluster created in Africa will support, within the framework of the agreement, the Algerian cluster to be made, through the training of maritime experts and facilitating access to the blue economy in all its areas.


For his part, Yuvanof indicated that the new agreement would enable the transfer of expertise between countries on both Mediterranean shores and develop kills among economic operators.
