Hamid Benderradji, CEO of ECOREP, part of the AGM Group specializing in shipbuilding, presents his company's major projects in construction and maintenance at ALGEST 2025.
A ship contains between 30,000 and 40,000 components.
Initially focused on fishing boats, ECOREP has diversified into the manufacture of tugboats and port facilities, amongst other things. To succeed in these projects, a solid network of subcontractors is essential, emphasizes the CEO. "A boat contains between 30,000 and 40,000 components. A single company can't produce everything," explains the CEO, who took this opportunity to announce the launch of the construction of four new tugboats starting in 2026. "This major project requires a more efficient local industrial fabric, particularly in grade A marine steel and mechanical components," Benderradji points out.
The National Railway Transport Company (SNTF) is also looking for qualified suppliers. Ramoul Abderrahmane, head of the company's procurement department, told Horizons that thanks to previous editions of ALGEST, the SNTF has been able to establish partnerships with Algerian manufacturers, some of which have already produced brake linings for Stadler railcars with satisfactory results.
