At the IATF trade show, the Agrolog Group signed a dual contract with a Ugandan investor for two agri-food projects in Algeria, totalling $200 million and scheduled to run over five years. The first project involves the local processing of raw cocoa (beans) into finished products (powder, butter, paste), to reduce imports of semi-finished products. The second aims to import raw coffee for complete processing within the country (roasting, grinding). The equipment, currently being manufactured in Switzerland, will soon be delivered, and the Algerian authorities are actively supporting the rapid implementation of these projects.
At the same time, Agrolog plans to open three agricultural product processing units (potatoes, tomatoes, and white meat) in the east, centre, and west of the country, as well as investing in the construction of cold storage facilities. These initiatives are part of a strategy for reducing imports and strengthening the national agri-food industry.
