The president of the ALNAFT agency, Mr Bekhti, announced that the latest series of calls for tenders had raised $600 million for exploration projects, demonstrating investor confidence. A new series is planned for early 2026, preceded by a pre-selection phase on around 20 blocks to pinpoint areas of interest more effectively.

Algeria, a reliable producer of oil and gas, intends to expand its activities into promising border areas. It relies on world-class gas fields, an integrated supply network, and strong partnerships to meet growing energy demand, particularly in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Citing a report by the International Energy Agency, Mr Bekhti emphasized that global demand will continue to grow until 2050, driven by industrialization and the needs of artificial intelligence. Algeria is supporting this momentum by strengthening its cooperation with investors and ensuring exploration is central to its energy strategy.
