Algeria aims to become a major tourist destination by focusing on investment, innovation and craftsmanship. The Ministry of Tourism plans to develop 53 land plots through the AAPI by 2026, with 185 hotel projects approved and 670 in progress, 80 to be delivered in 2026, totalling 10,000 beds. The offering is tailored to families and eco-tourism (eco-lodges, camps).

The sector has generated more than 200,000 jobs. The Algeria Tours platform lists 1,141 sites and 380 tours. Accommodation capacity is expected to reach 200,000 beds by 2030. Internationally, Algeria participates in trade shows and organizes the Sahara Tourism Festival.

Nearly 30,000 visas were issued between 2023 and 2025. Digital promotion and tourism quality have been enhanced. The 2026 plan includes the modernization of crafts, digitization, training, and the development of thermal spas (282 springs, 35 establishments, 16 projects).

Saharan, religious, and spa tourism are key areas, supported by cross-sector coordination. Crafts, gastronomy, and cultural heritage are central to the region's appeal to tourists.
