BEA opens its first branches in France

The Banque Extérieure d'Algérie (BEA) project to establish itself in France is becoming a reality. Abdelouahab Yagoubi, MP for Algerians in France, announced on his Facebook page on Monday that ‘BEA International Bank will open in France on Thursday, 20 November 2025’.

BEA International Bank, the first Algerian bank to establish itself in Europe, officially opens its doors in France following approval from the French authorities in January 2025. The first three branches will be operational in Paris, Saint-Denis, and Marseille, targeting areas with a high concentration of the Algerian diaspora. This project, launched in 2017 but delayed for a long period, aims to establish a strong financial and economic bond between Algeria and its citizens abroad. Further branches are planned soon. The bank, created in 2022 with a capital of €150 million, is headed by Mohamed Lebbou and chaired by Rahali Lahouari.
