Increase in the domestic trade budget for 2026

The Minister of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation, Amel Abdellatif, has announced that her sector's budget for 2026 will be 4.5 billion dinars higher than this year's budget.

During the presentation of her ministry's budget to the Finance Committee of the National People's Assembly, Minister Abdellatif emphasized that the budget increase reflects the state's recognition of the sector's strategic role in economic transparency and balance between freedom of enterprise and the public interest. She outlined three main areas of focus: market regulation, consumer protection, and improving administrative governance. The program also provides for the modernization of quality control laboratories, the creation of commercial structures in remote areas, and the strengthening of partnerships with the agricultural sector. In anticipation of Ramadan, measures are being taken to ensure the supply of basic commodities at affordable prices. Finally, the minister reaffirmed the state's commitment to building a strong national economy founded on freeing up initiatives and promoting local production.
