Rekhroukh inspects the Eastern Railway Line project

On Monday in El-Tarf, Lakhdar Rekhroukh enquired about progress on the project to renew, modernize and double the “East” mining railway line, on the northern section (Annaba-Bouchegouf).

The Minister of Public Works, Mr. Rekhroukh, was pleased with the 60% completion rate achieved on the project to modernize and double the eastern railway line. This project, closely followed by President Tebboune, involves 7 national companies and stretches over 422 km, from Annaba to Bled El Hadba (Tébessa). It includes complex infrastructures such as bridges and tunnels, which are required due to the difficult topography. Scheduled for delivery in May 2027, the project is intended to boost mineral transport in the east of the country and support the strategic integrated phosphate project at Tébessa, thereby creating jobs and diversifying sources of income. The Minister called for speeding up work by mobilizing more resources to meet deadlines.
