The official delegation participating in the opening of this workshop will include executives from the Ministry, the National Mining Agency (ANAM), ASGA, and representatives from the Sonarem Group.

This scientific event will bring together an elite group of academics, professors, researchers, and experts from various regions of the country to discuss key topics related to national geology, including ancient shields and basins, the geology of the Algerian Sahara, and the geology of the northern part of the country.

This workshop is part of the implementation of the roadmap drawn up by the mining sector, which aims to evaluate half a century of geological research in Algeria and explore prospects for its development, in line with the government's strategic vision to revive the mining sector and attract investment to contribute to the diversification of the national economy.

The program will conclude with a scientific field trip to the regions of El Kseib (village of Ougarta) and Marhouma, where participants will observe the geological evolution of the Ougarta mountains. This will be followed by the publication of scientific monographs summarising the main results and recommendations of the workshop.

The wilaya of Beni Abbès is an open-air geological museum, illustrating the richness and diversity of the national geological heritage, making it the ideal destination to host this important scientific event.
