To boost domestic production of medical gases, Rayanox invests 2.15 billion dinars in Batna

Rayanox, based in Oran, will soon launch a major industrial expansion project in the province of Batna, according to Amine Tazi, the company's director.

With an estimated cost of 2.15 billion dinars, Rayanox's project involves the construction of a pharmaceutical production unit specializing in medical gases to meet strong domestic demand, particularly from public hospitals (EPH) and local health facilities (EPSP). After obtaining approval in February 2025 from the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency for a plot of land in the Batna industrial zone, the company will start the complete development of the site, the installation of a state-of-the-art air separation unit, and the acquisition of mobile cryogenic tanks.

The objectives include increasing production, reducing logistics costs thanks to proximity to consumption areas, and optimizing manufacturing costs through better control of the value chain. The project also aims to guarantee a continuous supply in this vital sector. The new unit is expected to create 100 direct jobs, stimulate industrial and logistical activity in the wilaya of Batna, supply the southeastern region, which has no local producer, and strengthen Rayanox's strategic position for exporting to neighbouring countries, thus affirming its regional and African vocation.
