Import of new vehicles: Specifications published in a week

This decision was announced by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Sunday.

According to the Council of Ministers communiqué, President Tebboune has ordered to "publish the specifications of the activity of new vehicle import dealers within a week, and put an end to the old practices that have drained the citizens and the public treasury".

He also ordered to "distinguish between the activity of importer dealers and that of manufacturers" and "move towards a mechanical industry according to modern technological standards".

The Head of State asked to "ensure that the export of cars from Algeria after their importation is not done to the detriment of the national market, the needs of citizens and with the funds of the public treasury".
