IATF 2025: $400 million in contracts expected in the pharmaceutical sector

The 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), held from September 4 to 10 at the Palais des Expositions des Pins Maritimes in Algiers, is expected to result in the signing of investment contracts worth $400 million in the pharmaceutical industry. The announcement was made on Sunday by Ouacim Kouidri, the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry.

On the sidelines of IATF 2025, the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Mr. Kouidri, praised Algeria's successful participation, announcing the expected signing of contracts worth $400 million between 22 Algerian operators and foreign partners. He described the fair as a key step in strengthening intra-African cooperation in strategic sectors such as pharmaceuticals. With 218 production units, representing 26% of the continent's pharmaceutical infrastructure, Algeria is well placed to play a central role in African health sovereignty. The minister encouraged African countries to invest in research, innovation, and local production. He also highlighted the simplification of drug registration procedures in Algeria and announced that the WHO Level 3 certification, expected in October, will facilitate exporting.
