Hikma Pharmaceuticals is inaugurating a new plant in Algeria dedicated to producing injectable medicines, bringing the total number of its sites in the country to five. This initiative is part of an industrial expansion strategy launched in 1994. At the same time, a project to rehabilitate an anti-cancer drug manufacturing unit is underway, to produce more than 565 million boxes a year.

The Jordanian delegation, welcomed by the Algerian authorities, stressed the importance of strengthening trade and pharmaceutical cooperation between Algeria and Jordan, particularly through the local production of raw materials and collaboration between regulatory agencies.

Since the 1990s, Jordanian investment in the Algerian pharmaceutical sector, led by companies such as Hikma, Dar Al Dawa and Pharma International, has risen sharply, exceeding 40 million dollars and generating hundreds of jobs.
