COSOB: BNP Paribas El Djazair removed from the list of account holders

The Commission for the Organisation and Supervision of Stock Exchange Operations (COSOB) announced on Sunday that BNP Paribas El Djazair had been removed from the list of approved securities account holders.

This decision was taken at the request of the bank concerned, according to the same source, in a statement announcing the measure to investors. CASOB "informs all stock market investors that BNP Paribas El Djazair's status as an approved custodian of securities accounts has been withdrawn following its request," the Commission said in its document.

"Consequently," she continues, "this bank is removed from the list of approved custodians of securities accounts, effective September 17, 2025."

Accounts transferred to Algeria Clearing

In addition, COSOB announced in the same press release that "investors holding securities accounts with the bank concerned who have not transferred them to other securities account custodians should note that their assets have been transferred to Algérie Clearing, the central securities depository."

The latter, she continues, "is responsible for temporarily managing the remaining assets until the holders transform them definitively to active securities custodians."
