During his visit to El Tarf, Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ouacim Kouidri, announced several measures aimed at facilitating investment in the sector. These include extending the prior approval period for new companies from one year to between two and three years, enabling investors to finalize their administrative procedures.
The ministry has also removed the experience requirement for technical director pharmacists, opening the door to young graduates and simplifying recruitment for companies. These changes meet the expectations of industry stakeholders and aim to stimulate both investment and employment.
Amid strong demand, the pharmaceutical sector signed partnerships worth more than $725 million at the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) in Algiers. These agreements will enable the development of new projects and greater openness to external markets.
In Annaba, Kouidri oversaw the launch of a Saidal Group project to
produce vaccines for the national program. This project is expected to
help reduce the import bill by at least $150 million per year and
strengthen national health sovereignty.
