Nuclear power, touted by the Westerners as the definitive answer to their energy dependency problem, is clearly not in line with the climate change that is taking place on the planet. Plans to build as many nuclear power plants are brought to a standstill by global warming and water scarcity.

The other limiting factor in nuclear power relates to the need to cool reactors, which may no longer be assured, owing to the drop in water levels in rivers and the warming of their temperature. Although the problem is not immediate for reactors currently operating, it remains irremediable in the medium term. Both factors - geopolitics and climate - seriously undermine European energy independence theory.
