Plastic recycling: A large factory will open before the end of September in Mascara

Called "El Kader Plast", the plant is "the largest recycling plant for polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastics in Algeria", reports El Watan newspaper on Tuesday, which points out that this important industrial project "will reduce environmental pollution and help the country to catch up with its remarkable backlog in plastic recycling, which remains below 10%".

The investor, originally from the province of Oran, invested more than 100 billion cents, according to data reported by the same newspaper.

According to the same source, some 200 permanent posts will be created immediately.

According to the same media, the plant is described as "the largest recycling plant in Africa". It is equipped with "a complete line, with a daily capacity of 40 tons (or 2000 kg/hour), which will allow the recycling of waste from polypropylene plastic (PP) and plastics into high-density polyethylene (HDPE) per day (or 2 000 kg/hour)", it is stated, that "the 70% of recycled plastic pellets, of very high quality, feed the national and international market of the plastic processing industry" and that "the 30% will be destined to the second unit of production capacity of 30 pallets and pallet boxes per hour’.
