Launch of clinker loading machine at Djendjen port: A major step forward in logistics and ecology

news-detail

The representative of Holcim Algérie, in a presentation to the Minister, pointed out that “this loading device on board ships required a considerable financial investment of 3 million euros”. He explained, “This apparatus marks a decisive turning point in the development of domestic logistics, dedicated to the export of cement. In addition to speeding up loading operations, this shiploader allows ships to dock, be processed and leave port in record time, reducing delays and excessive detention costs." Adding that “the positive impact of this device on the environment cannot be overlooked.

By preserving the quality of the product, it prevents the depreciation of the clinker in contact with water. Furthermore, by avoiding product losses and gas and dust emissions, it contributes to environmental protection, thus demonstrating the Algerian industry’s commitment to sustainability.”

For his part, Abdeslam Bouab, Chairman and CEO of the port of Djendjen, announced that “an order has been placed for the acquisition of two similar devices, which will soon be imported from China.” This initiative reflects "the long-term vision of the port, to further improve its efficiency and cargo handling capacity".

Before  the commissioning of an automatic clinker loading machine (constituting cement), the Minister of Transport had officially opened the split railway line, linking the port of Djendjen to the industrial zone of Bellara.
