Condé Nast Traveler has published an article on African destinations, listing Algeria among ten attractive countries. The magazine highlights the paradox of a country rich in tourist attractions—the Sahara, rock art, Islamic architecture, Roman ruins, Mediterranean beaches—yet less visited than its neighbours. This situation can be explained in particular by the complexity of visas, currently being simplified (‘visas on arrival’ and soon electronic) as part of a plan to quadruple tourism by 2030.
Starting in 2026, British tour operator Explore Worldwide will offer three tours in Algeria: in the Sahara, in Algiers, and a tour combining the desert and cities. Air Algérie, for its part, has acquired Tassili Airlines to strengthen domestic connections, is investing in new aircraft, and is considering new international routes, including Algiers–New York.
Finally, the magazine mentions the planned reopening in 2026 of the Grand Hotel Cirta in Constantine, a historic Arab-Moorish style building inaugurated in 1912, symbolizing the revival of hotel infrastructure.
