Hyundai ready to support Algeria in its industrial revival

South Korea's ambassador to Algeria, Yu Ki-jun, announced that trade between the two countries exceeded $3.9 billion in 2024, highlighting the growing momentum of the economic partnership between Algiers and Seoul.

At a reception held in Algiers on Thursday to mark Korea's National Day, the diplomat stated that Algerian-Korean relations were entering a new phase, characterised by increased cooperation in the industrial and technological sectors.

He specified that Hyundai Motors is preparing to support Algeria in its reindustrialisation strategy through investment projects aimed at strengthening local production and positioning the country on the global manufacturing map.


Yu Ki-Jun also stated that the two governments are actively working to revive the Algerian-Korean Joint Commission to diversify trade and foster new economic partnerships.

Finally, the ambassador emphasised the human dimension of the partnership, stating that cooperation between Algeria and South Korea will extend to youth creativity, innovative industries, and cultural exchanges between the two peoples.
