“There are very good references to smart buildings in Algeria,” said Schneider Algeria CEO Anouar Chara at the 1st “Innovation Day in Algeria”, organized by his company in the presence of professionals and experts from different sectors.
Smart building equipment and software are now installed in several buildings across the country and are increasingly being adopted, Chara said, citing hospitals, stadiums, factories, seawater desalination stations, rail networks and airports.
He said that “Nelson Mandela” stadium, located in Baraki, on the outskirts of the capital, and officially opened last January by President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is equipped with the latest digital solutions, “even exceeding the standards of stadiums in some European countries, in terms of digitalization”.
He said the stadium has about 300 connected devices, allowing the operator at the control room to have a fairly wide visibility in real time.
Chara also cited Djamâa el Djazair, the East-West Highway tunnels, and other infrastructure that have advanced digitization and sustainability solutions.
According to the explanations given at this meeting, the smart building represents the integration of innovative solutions, including new energy production techniques, more virtuous heating and air conditioning systems, the development of the performance of ventilation systems, the more thoughtful choice on the location and orientation of the building.
