According to the official, this performance is the result of numerous commercial contracts signed with foreign partners at international trade shows and exhibitions in which Algeria participated this year, totalling more than 80 agreements.
Appearing on national radio, El-Houari emphasized that national and international economic and trade events now represent a strategic lever for promoting Algerian products and establishing new export partnerships.
He specified that 44 exclusive export contracts were signed on the sidelines of the Algerian Products Fair held in Nouakchott (Mauritania) last May. These agreements also include the creation of joint ventures between Algerian and Mauritanian operators. In addition, 18 contracts were signed at the Moscow Fair in September, 12 others at the Agricultural Products Fair in Spain, and several similar agreements at the International Fair in Slovenia.
Algeria plans to end the year by participating in four international trade fairs during the last quarter: the International Trade Fair in Togo, where it will be the guest of honour, as well as trade fairs in Dakar, the Sultanate of Oman in December, and the fair for craft industries trade in Italy.
For 2026, 22 international destinations have been selected as part of the national program for participation in economic fairs and exhibitions, including 10 African countries.
El-Houari also reported a 23% increase in non-hydrocarbon exports during the first seven months of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024. According to him, this growth can be explained by the gradual diversification of destination markets, now encompassing Europe, North America, Asia, and Africa, as well as the geographical proximity and regularity of maritime links with the European continent.
