"Today we are witnessing the realization of a Government's commitment to effectively launch artisanal gold mining in the south of the country, so as to ensure sustainable development, in application of the instructions of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aiming to enhance the mining potential of the country and its effective exploitation in the service of the national economy ", affirmed the minister, on the sidelines of a ceremony of handing over 128 artisanal gold mining authorizations to micro -businesses.
The authorizations are located on the territory of the municipalities of Illizi, Djanet and Bordj El-Haouès.
Mr. Mohamed Arkab, who is accompanied by the deputy ministers responsible for micro-enterprises and the Saharan environment, Nassim Diafat and Hamza Al Sid Cheikh respectively, indicated, moreover, that the impetus of the artisanal mining activity gold, in a regulated and organized framework and with incentive mechanisms in favor of micro-enterprises, is able to generate jobs and absorb a good part of unemployment, in addition to putting an end to exploitation illegal and anarchic activity in this niche, posing a dangerous threat to mineral resources.
Mr. Arkab praised, in the same context, the efforts made by the various partners (ministerial departments and officials and local elected officials) for the realization of this vital project through efficient investment mechanisms and incentives, before retracing the different stages of this economic program, from the legal framework of the activity to the identification of mining sites (128 sites), the selection of qualified young people from the region and their organization into micro-enterprises, then the start of the artisanal gold mining activity.
As such, he called on micro-enterprises to establish themselves in the field, to demonstrate professionalism and to exercise the activity in compliance with the regulations.
For his part, the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of micro-enterprises, Nassim Diafat, highlighted the role of micro-enterprises and startups in the development approach of the national economy, as a partner pivotal and strategic in building a diversified economy, on purely economic foundations.
"The effective launch of the artisanal gold mining activity is able to strengthen the bonds of trust between citizens and state institutions, within the framework of the new Algeria," he said. -He underlines.
The Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Environment, in charge of the Saharan environment, Hamza Al Sid Cheikh, for his part considered that his department ensures compliance with the organizational framework and the criteria for exercising this activity, with a concern for the preservation of human health and strict respect for the ecosystem and natural resources "to which no harm will be tolerated".
"The country's high authorities attach great interest to the Saharan regions, within the framework of strategic priorities for building a strong economy based above all on local skills, the preservation of the Saharan environment and the development of its resources. ", he maintained.
Beneficiaries of artisanal gold mining authorizations welcomed the new formulas and mechanisms granted to them by the public authorities for the exercise of this activity in an organized framework, showing their determination to invest in the field. to both improve their living environment and contribute to the development dynamic in this border region.
The ministerial delegation continues its working visit to the wilaya with the launch of a training program for the benefit of micro-enterprises having benefited from artisanal gold mining authorizations, as well as the inspection of a gold trading post. , in progress at the level of the delegated wilaya of Djanet.
She started her visit with a symbolic action of planting shrubs at the trial garden in the Tinemri area, near Illizi.
