In a statement to the press, on the sidelines of technical days on the experience of the CTC and the expertise of the American institute ACI in concrete construction and the improvement of techniques used in this field, the official reported that "on Monday, the two parties will sign a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing cooperation and partnership in all matters relating to the concrete standards published by ACI", pointing out that these standards are in force in almost 120 countries worldwide.
He also emphasized the Algerian organization's desire to benefit from the American experience in concrete specifications. Referring to the role that the organization has to play in the context of major current and future programs in various fields, notably in the housing and public infrastructure sectors, the same official affirmed that the CTC has strengthened its digital services in recent years, notably through regularly updated software and digital platforms, used for testing, studies and control of constructions, both new and old, in their various types of housing, services and infrastructures.
A simulation program is currently being developed to facilitate testing operations and make them more efficient, according to Mr Meziani, who added that it is now possible for the organization's clients, in particular project owners and contractors, to interact with it via a platform dedicated to the submission of files and technical plans for projects under study and testing.
For his part, ACI Director Michael Paul praised the "good work" of the Organisme National de Contrôle Technique de la Construction (CTC) (National Technical Construction Control Body), expressing the American institute's willingness to "exchange experience and knowledge with the Algerian side, on best practices in concrete construction and the training of specialist engineers".
Founded in 1904, the American Concrete Institute (ACI) is one of the world's leading organizations specializing in concrete construction systems and standards.
It works to develop systems and best practices in this field, says its Executive Vice President, Frederick Grubbe, noting that "ACI also provides training and technical resources for engineers and architects, and supports research and innovation".
