The Ministry of the Environment "is working to bring the waste recycling rate to 10% by the year 2024", the minister said in particular after having inaugurated a unit for the recovery and recycling of plastic used in the area of activities and storage of the municipality of Guellal.
Ms. Benharrats also assured that her department "will remain ready to support and encourage companies active in the fields of collection, recycling and recovery as well as any initiative likely to bring more to the national economy".
The minister invited, on the occasion, the managers of this private company to work "exclusively with the people who collect recyclable plastic products in a declared official framework because they are the ones who contribute to the revitalization of the national economy".
She also revealed that coordination is underway with local authorities to lift the freeze on a number of projects and "find solutions to the problems of operators in the sector".
The Minister will continue her visit to the wilaya with the inauguration of a treatment unit for special, hazardous and hospital waste installed in the activity zone of the municipality of El Ouldja, the inspection of the technical landfill center of the municipality de Béni Fouda and lay the first stone of a water treatment plant for an oil mill.
Ms. Benharrats will also chair a planting operation of 1000 trees at the El-Maouane dam in the municipality of El-Ouricia before visiting at the University of Sétif-1 an exhibition reserved for companies active in the field of the environment.
