The new provisions introduced in this text provide for "access for working women with social insurance to maternity leave for a total period of 5 months, with a daily allowance equivalent to 100% of their salary for 150 days, instead of the 98 days provided for by the law in force No. 83-11 of 2 July 1983".
It also includes "human rights provisions for working women with social insurance, in the event of the birth of a child suffering from a disability, congenital malformation or serious illness requiring medical assistance or intervention, to benefit, after the 150 days of maternity leave, from an initial extension of 50 days, followed by a second extension of up to 165 additional days, if the state of health of the newborn so requires".
