Saharan agriculture: Oualid listens to investors

On Saturday evening, Minister of Agriculture Yacine Oualid chaired a national meeting with investors who have benefited from agricultural land in the southern provinces of the country. The meeting, attended by central government officials and relevant agencies, aimed to identify the difficulties encountered on the ground and propose concrete solutions.

A meeting between public and private operators, organized by the ministry, provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges of agricultural development in Saharan lands. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to food security and highlighted several obstacles: network access, adapted equipment, land regulation, financing, and administrative procedures.

The minister promised to address these concerns at various levels and announced a program in the 2026 finance bill to improve agricultural infrastructure, with regular monitoring of projects.
