In its press release, the ministry explained that this service is intended for members of the national community living abroad, as part of the voluntary affiliation system to the national social security and pension system.
A partnership agreement was also signed between CNAS and BDL.
On this occasion, the Minister emphasised that this partnership is part of the President's commitments to protect the national community abroad, strengthen its participation in national development and develop modernisation and digitisation tools for administrative services provision, thus ensuring the facilitation of procedures.
He added that this cooperation reflects the State's commitment to strengthening relations between its institutions and the diaspora members and providing secure and efficient digital solutions to facilitate payment transactions.
Paying social security contributions from anywhere, 24 hours a day
The Minister also stressed that this will help simplify procedures, reduce travel to the relevant agencies in the countries of residence, improve the transparency and reliability of transactions, and broaden the National Retirement System membership base.
With the launch of this service, diaspora members can now pay their social security contributions remotely, from anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day, using an international "VISA" card.
The possibility of making up for up to 5 missing years
Voluntary affiliation is governed by Executive Decree no. 22-351 of 18 October 2022 and the joint ministerial order of 5 January 2023, which enables the national community abroad to benefit from social cover within the country, in the form of benefits in kind for sickness and maternity insurance through the recovery card, as well as pension benefits.
Members of the diaspora can also make up for missing years up to a limit of five years, in exchange for payment of the associated compensatory contributions.
