Boumerdes: More than 11,700 Chifa cards updated

More than 11,700 “Chifa” card updates have been carried out at pharmacies in the wilaya of Boumerdès, under agreement with the Caisse Nationale des Assurances Sociales (CNAS) (National Social Insurance Fund), since the implementation of this new measure was launched at the end of May, according to the local CNAS agency.

In Boumerdes, 367 CNAS-approved pharmacies offer a Chifa card updating service, available 24/7, including at weekends and on public holidays. The local director of CNAS, Karim Mokrani, stressed that the launch of the Chifa2 card marks a major step forward in the modernisation and digitalisation of CNAS. The new system enables improved monitoring of transactions, remote card application, secure data verification and access via mobile phone. Since 2007, 591,854 cards have been issued to 758,815 beneficiaries in the wilaya. An awareness campaign on simplifying procedures and updating cards was organised at the beginning of June.
