Chaïb brings together investors from the diaspora: Moving from words to action

Last Thursday, Sofiane Chaïb, Secretary of State for the National Community Abroad, chaired another major meeting with investors and project leaders from the Algerian diaspora.

The meeting, organized in the presence of the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Noureddine Ouadah, brought together numerous economic and institutional players to discuss how to turn the potential of the Algerian diaspora into a growth lever.  This initiative aims to facilitate the establishment and financing of projects led by members of the diaspora in a more attractive business climate. It follows on from the “African Diaspora Day” held on the sidelines of the IATF 2025 in Algiers. The World Council of the Algerian Diaspora (CMDA), chaired by Karim Zeribi, plans to establish a vast international network to support this dynamic, with branches in several major cities worldwide. A dedicated entity will provide technical and administrative support to entrepreneurs. The government has taken several measures to fully integrate the diaspora, including simplifying consular procedures and improving access to retirement benefits. This meeting marks a tangible step toward operationalisation of this strategic vision.
