Held Monday at the ministry's headquarters, this meeting is part of "the participatory approach adopted by the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion with the various socio-professional partners", according to the press release.
In addition to supplying the market, the meeting was also devoted to "ongoing preparations for the month of Ramadan to ensure the availability of widely consumed products at affordable prices to prevent shortages in the markets".
In this regard, the minister ordered the establishment of specialized workshops in collaboration with the UGCAA, to concretize the decisions and orientations of the President of the Republic, aimed at strengthening food security and the regulation of the market, particularly during exceptional periods such as Ramadan.
He further insisted on "the effective implementation of these instructions by taking the necessary measures to ensure the availability of basic products at reasonable prices and to support national production", adds the press release.
Also, Mr. Zitouni underlined the importance of permanent coordination between the ministry and the Union for the distribution of basic products and the control of their prices to guarantee market stability and thus protect, the purchasing power of the citizens.
The SG of the UGCAA, for his part, recalled the role of the Union which "constantly works to raise awareness among traders and craftsmen of the imperative respect of laws and regulations to contribute to the stabilization of the market for the benefit of the general interest", notes the press release.
