The full text of the press release from the Prime Minister's Office:
"Prime Minister, Mr Nadir Larbaoui, presided over a Government meeting on Wednesday April 17, 2024, devoted to examining the preliminary bill laying down the rules governing competition, which is part of the implementation of the directives issued by the President of the Republic concerning the fight against speculation, the prevention of monopoly situations and the promotion of economic governance.
The Government also examined a bill amending and supplementing the law on waste management, control and disposal, as well as a draft executive decree on air transport and airport facilities aimed at improving airport operations to ensure better quality services for travellers.
As part of the finalization of the legal framework for strengthening links between universities and the business world, particularly with regard to the development of new support mechanisms for highly qualified university graduates, the Government examined a draft executive decree laying down the conditions and procedures for carrying out doctoral theses in a professional environment, which aims to put in place a regulatory framework enabling the creation of a complementary relationship between organizations in charge of scientific research and economic enterprises.
As part of the follow-up to the implementation of the new investment system, the Government heard a presentation on the state of progress of the operation to reorganize and develop tourist expansion zones, and on the provision to the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency of tourist land in the State's private domain, earmarked for tourist investment projects.
With regard to sectoral presentations on the implementation of instructions from the President of the Republic, concerning the acceleration of the pace of digitization by all sectors, the Government heard a communication on the digitization of the Post and Telecommunications sector, focusing in particular on the progress made in strengthening ICT infrastructures, developing electronic payment and the generalization of electronic certification and signature.
The Government also examined the regulatory framework for the pre-qualification of specialized offices and consultancy firms working in the field of hydrocarbons, which aims to ensure that they meet the best requirements in terms of competence for carrying out studies and expertise in this field in order to support the implementation of major investments implemented as part of the strategy to develop oil resources".
