Epal-managed port performance rose significantly in the second quarter of 2025. Exports grew by 31.69% compared with the same period in 2024, with total export tonnage rising from 307,823 tons to 438,668 tons, an increase of 42.51%. Imports also increased by 15.99%, reaching 1.976 million tons, largely due to the import of sheep for Eid al-Adha. In total, cargo traffic reached 2.414 million tons, up 20% year-on-year.

Port efficiency improved significantly with a reduction in the average time ships spent at berth from 4.49 days to 3.44 days. This performance is attributed to the introduction of continuous operation (24/7) since February 2025, in accordance with the instructions of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which has optimized resource management and accelerated cargo handling operations.
