African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF): Meeting in Algiers next November

The Algerian Tax Administration (DGI) announced on Saturday that Algiers will host the annual meetings of the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) from November 3 to 7.

Under the theme "Adopting effective and targeted approaches for equitable tax systems," these meetings, scheduled to take place at the Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Centre (CIC), are expected to bring together African tax officials, finance ministers, policymakers, and global development partners, according to the same source.




"Shaping the continent's financial future"

The DGI also states that the purpose of these periodic meetings is to "define the continent's financial future by promoting a common agenda focused on the sustainable mobilization of domestic resources, ensuring effective fiscal governance, and promoting inclusive economic growth."




They also offer "a unique opportunity to deepen dialogue and strengthen the African continent's capacity to finance its own development and achieve sustainable transformation," notes the DGI.




ATAF, a forum created in 2019

Created in November 2009, the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF), of which Algeria has been a member for over a year, is a platform for dialogue, exchange, and the dissemination of knowledge, aiming to improve tax systems in Africa.




The last edition of the annual meetings of the ATAF, headquartered in South Africa, took place in Kigali (Rwanda) at the end of 2024.
