Animating a meeting around economic diplomacy, at the level of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), in the presence of national operators and future economic advisers, Mr. Benamara said that these diplomatic advisers must be trained during the current year on aspects of economic diplomacy, negotiation techniques and economic English, before taking up their posts in Algerian diplomatic representations abroad in order to offer the necessary support and information to national exporters.
This, he said, falls within the framework of the various provisions intended to strengthen Algerian economic diplomacy, and this, after the recent inauguration of an office for information and promotion of investments and exports at the level of Algeria. ministry, responsible for guiding and advising national exporters but also providing them with the necessary information on the markets to which they intend to access.
In addition, Mr. Benamara recalled the existence of a portal, in three languages, specific to Algerian economic diplomacy on the website of the ministry.
For his part, the Director of Promotion and Support for Economic Exchanges within the MFA, Rabah Fassih, said that the mission of his newly created directorate consists of promoting international trade, implementing implementation of the export support policy and the provision of information and economic analysis of foreign markets for the benefit of national operators.
He also specified that the missions of the department dependent on the MAE concern support and information on the external aspect of the export operation, in particular the regulations of the target country, phytosanitary rules, quality control, reliability of the external operator but also international calls for tenders, partnership proposals and exhibitions and fairs in Algeria and abroad.
Invited to speak at this meeting, several national economic operators welcomed this initiative while calling for support to exporters to targeted markets and to organize other discussion sessions between operators and diplomatic advisers.
In addition, representatives of professional organizations reaffirmed the need for a one-stop shop dedicated to exports involving all the ministerial departments concerned and for marketing work on "made in Algeria" as well as the creation of '' a mapping of the national economy to publicize national products.
