Internet connection speeds: Partnership between Algérie Télécom and Ookla

On Monday June 16, 2025, Sid Ali Zerrouki, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, chaired the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between Algérie Télécom and the American company Ookla, world leader in Internet performance analysis.

Mohamed El Hadi Hanachi, Chairman of ARPCE, attended the signing of an agreement to strengthen collaboration between Algérie Télécom and the regulatory authority, to improve the performance of telecommunications networks. This partnership, established with the international company Ookla, specialising in the evaluation of Internet connection quality, will help optimise infrastructures and improve the user experience. The partnership also aims to move Algeria up the international rankings for Internet service quality.
