In the absence of funding, this large-scale infrastructure, which had been registered in 2013 and was to be built in Boumansour area in the municipality of Oued-Ghir, 10 km from the administrative centre of the wilaya, had been frozen in 2015, along with several other projects including the cable car project, the tramway, the University Hospital Center, etc.

Thus, the technical and assistance study of this stadium, with a capacity of 30,000 places, which can be extended to 40,000 places, has just been unlocked to the delight of the sports family, who eagerly awaited this project.

The cost of the study is 41 billion cents, while the construction of the structure will require 1 300 billion cents according to the initial financial statement.

The design office had presented three variants for this new modern sports complex, which will be a professional training and training center for high-performance athletes of all disciplines. It will include many buildings namely very modern sports centers with all amenities, a football stadium, an athletic track, a multi-sport pavilion for other sports activities (handball, volleyball...), and an Olympic-size swimming pool.
