The National People's Assembly (APN) has adopted a new law strengthening the circular economy and integrated waste management. Chaired by Zouhir Nasri, the adoption was attended by ministers Nadjiba Djilali (Environment) and Kaouter Krikou (Relations with Parliament).
The law introduces key measures such as
Creation of a national integrated waste management strategy.
Implementation of a digital system for waste management and recovery.
Encouraging local and foreign start-ups in the field of the circular economy.
Promoting the recycling and reduction of single-use plastics.
It is based on fundamental principles such as extended producer responsibility and integrating environmental aspects into product design. This legislative framework reflects Algeria's commitment to aligning with international standards and reducing pressure on its natural resources.
