Algeria-Spain: project to modernize airspace management on the agenda

On Monday, Transport Minister Said Sayoud received the new Spanish Ambassador to Algeria, Fernando Moran, with whom he discussed the relaunch of the strategic project to modernize airspace management.

According to a Ministry press release, the high-level meeting was attended by the Managing Director of the Spanish company Indra for the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as the Managing Director of the Entreprise Nationale de la Navigation Aérienne (ENNA) (National Air Navigation Company) and several Ministry executives.

 

The press release announces, "Indra, on behalf of ENNA, carried out this strategic project to develop and manage Algerian airspace, but technical and organisational differences delayed its completion.

 

Modernising the navigation system and strengthening its infrastructure

 

On this occasion, Sayoud stressed the urgent need to remove the remaining obstacles, underlining the strategic importance of this project in implementing the President of the Republic's plans to modernise the national air navigation system and strengthen its infrastructure.

 

For his part, the Spanish ambassador reaffirmed his country's commitment to fully supporting the completion of the project and expressed his willingness to foster an environment conducive to the rapid resumption of work, in a spirit of cooperation and partnership.
