Algeria—Canada: Bilateral Business Council relaunched to strengthen economic cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Professor Kamel Rezig, received the Canadian Ambassador, Ms Robin Lynn Wettlaufer, in Algiers on Saturday to discuss prospects for strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting between Minister Rezig and Ambassador Wettlaufer focused on strengthening trade relations and diversifying partnerships between Algeria and Canada. The minister proposed relaunching the Algerian-Canadian Business Council and organising cross-exhibitions to promote the products of both countries. The ambassador reaffirmed Canada's commitment to developing joint economic projects. This initiative is part of Algeria's strategy to diversify its international partnerships, with a focus on trade, investment, innovation, and energy transition.
