During a session of the Council of the Nation, the Minister of Energy presented the  SCADA system upgrade project, which aims to modernize the five-year supervision of electricity distribution networks. This system will enable early detection of faults, ensuring more effective intervention. The first phase will be launched in major cities.

The minister also emphasized the sector's commitment to meeting electricity and gas needs throughout the country, including remote areas, notably through the use of solar panels. He warned of the risks regarding unregulated urban construction near energy networks and called for greater awareness.

In the east of the country, several provinces are benefiting from infrastructure projects: in El Tarf, the renewal of the electricity network is 70% complete, with more than 34,000 households connected to gas. In Batna, coverage rates have reached 89% for gas and 98% for electricity, thanks to electrification and modernization programs, particularly in Seriana. In Skikda, programs have connected 4,410 households to electricity and more than 23,000 to gas.
